QuiltCon 2025: Recap

Lamb Farm Designs Booth
QuiltCon 2025 – what a whirlwind!
When we applied back in Summer of 2024 we genuinely thought our chance of getting into this convention was low. Our quilt designs are in a strange middle, they’re not quite traditional but they’re not quite modern either. We also don’t currently inventory any kits or fabric. To our surprise we were accepted and got to planning as quickly as we could!
We had all sorts of plans for new products and displays, but a run in with the flu knocked Alex out for a solid month and a half and unfortunately a lot of our ideas had to be set aside since we just didn’t have the time.
Set-up Day:
Like our past shows, we flew in with what we could fit in suitcases and shipped our inventory. Funny to think that we used to be afraid of that (we would drive instead), until an ice storm in the PNW on our way to Road to CA forced us to. Sometimes challenges push us to pivot in ways we never imagined and it all strangely works out.
In true Lamb Farm fashion though, we hit a few hiccups trying to secure our rental cars after landing. But luckily, we were each staying with friends outside of Phoenix, and the day quickly turned around for the better! Set-up day was also a little chaotic since each of our friends were on opposite sides of Phoenix and we completely underestimated the distance to the convention center – not to mention the traffic! Usually set-up only takes about an hour and some change if all goes to plan (it didn’t) and we spent most of our day running around town.
Note to self: A 10×10 booth always feels smaller than we expect….next time, we’re booking bigger! We ended up rearranging our booth twice until it finally felt right.

Days 1-3
The rest of the week flew by in a blur, but wow the energy was unreal! There was a lightness to this show, so much creativity and joy radiated from everyone. Not to mention the amount of talent shown in the quilt submissions (see the quilts below). It was truly inspiring and we are so thankful we got to be part of it. Leaving a show always puts a new pep in our step!
And despite receiving the heartbreaking news on Saturday that our dear family friend Taylor had passed, we pushed through the rest of the weekend. Hearts were heavy because he was so loved – he will be incredibly missed by so many!

Take down was AMAZING because Alex’s husband flew in for the weekend and man, that 6 foot 4 height comes in handy when you’re taking quilts off a wall. We didn’t need the step stool once – ha! Now we just need to devise a way to bring him to all our shows.

Thanks to all the support we only had to ship back about half of the inventory we brought originally and that in itself is amazing!
Alex also had the chance to take a wonderful cross stitch class by Hilary Jordan (@byhilaryjordan) and we’re both feeling energized for what’s next with Lamb Farm Designs. A huge, huge thank you to everyone who stopped by – connecting with all of you is always the best part of these shows.
Happy quilting, friends!
